Default Winter Snow is finished!

Here is my most recent finish. The pattern is a slightly altered version of the pattern Winter Snow from Sara Nephew's book Not Your Grandmother's Log Cabin. I say "slightly altered," because I cut all 800+ logs incorrectly and had to improvise. That being said, I think is still turned out well. I used all scraps for this quilt except for the blue border. It finished at 65"x75". I quilted it in a simple meander (stipple) with a taupe-colored thread from Signature called Mother Goose. I love that color. This will be an early Christmas gift for my step-daughter in Idaho. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful quilt and I never would have known you had to improvise! Lucky SD to get this as a gift!

I LOVE this!! I guess this proves the saying: "there are no mistakes, just design opportunities"! I just got the book, but haven't attempted anything yet.

What a neat quilt. Could you post a close up of one of the blocks?

That is just so beautiful! And from scraps, too. Great job!
