Very nice! I too hated basting and spent hours on my knees on a hardwood floor doing it, until I discovered basting spray. Try it - it will change your life.

That is so delicate and pretty. I think the brown was an inspired choice!

Yeah, it's too bad basting's so important... you'lll have wrinkles & puckers if you don't do it..... I use Sharon Schamber's ' hand basting' technique.. you sit down & do it on a table.
BTW, are those blocks part of a 12 months of redwork flowers? Isaw a pattern like that a year or so ago, printed the pattens & haven't started it. Your work is Very pretty, Love the browns.

Not sure if they were published as a series; the pattern I followed is called 'Redwork Hearts' by Julie Hodges, published in British Patchwork and Quilting, Feb 2011. It says the designs for the embroidered blocks were taken (with permission) from a book by Alex Anderson called 'Shadow Redwork'.

Yes, unfortunately, basting is necessary. I don't like that process either, but find that doing it saves a whole lot of extra work that I dislike even more! lol

Your quilt is beautiful! I really like the brown print fabric and the great contrast it provides to this project. Simple, yet elegant! Nicely done!
