Actually NO this quilt would not make a great QOV an injured soldier coming back from Iraq or Afghanistan should NEVER be covered with a flag! EVER EVER EVER. Can you imagine your buddies being shipped out in a flag covered coffin and then you are injured and someone covers you with a flag? Not good especially sinse many of these guys will forever suffer from PTSD!
I do however have a red white and blue bargello in the works for a QOV!

after I was done doing the design of this I showed it to my husband and asked him about it before I ever started. If he wouldn't have been ok with it I would have NEVER made it! We will see how he is with actually using it though.
