Playing around with some of my most current favorite fabrics and my favorite block, the log cabin, I came up with this wonky log cabin mug rug.

Rules did not apply. I used what ever width strip came out of my scrap basket.

I made the binding out of strips of the fabrics I had used for the block.

I have been practicing FMQ on small projects. Boy, do I have a lot to learn!!!

Thank you, I am beginning to 'remember' that my hands are the feed dogs. I also stop and start more now to regain where I am going. I am hoping that with more practice on small projects, I will have more control. :-D

What a great idea, Linda! When I first started FMQ'ing I was jerky-not smooth; find that music helps. When I FMQ's a baby quilt with Cow in the moon fabric, I "wrote" the rhyme singing it as I sewd. Sure helped the jerkiness on that quilt, but couldn't get the ditty out of my head for days!LOL
