To all those that helped with suggestions - Thanks and here is the resulting project completed!

Huge thanks to Mamaw - she suggested that I go ahead and use the Valdani Pearl Cotton suggested in the pattern. What a delight to use and the ease with which it sewed was wonderful. I did have to use regular embroidery thread on a couple of then and that was a pain. I used Fray check on the edges, the Steam a Seam 2 to place them and then hand stitched the edges. Can't wait to see Mamaw's finished wool applique!!

I love your fall table topper. It is very well done. I just love the plaid wool addition into the mix. Very cool.

This reminds me, I have some wool felt ornaments to finish done this way.

That is absolutely gorgeous - can you tell me Eparys what the name of the kit is please. I would love to make one - you've certainly got a DS who knows exactly what his Mum loves.

Tisha - here is a link to the Primitive Gathreings site. I have seen the kits for less but this is the actual kit.

They also have other kits and just patterns. Yes the DS picked it out at a LQS in RI!!
