Work in Progress ... baby quilt for September baby!

Well, the young lady who got me back into quilting by having her baby boy a year ago in March of 2011 is now going to have another baby boy in September! I'm so thankful that she had brought me back to one of my most enjoyable hobbies ... quilting! Here's a picture of the quit top I have ready to sandwich and quilt. I'm going to bind it with the red color. I found the perfect match to the color as it is a raspberry red ... not a true red. Not adding any borders. The backing will be the stripe fabric. I'll post another picture when the quilt is finished.

Very cute, I love the owls! I made one for a baby girl, had trouble finding owl fabric.

Cute quilt! I have the owl fabric. Is this a modified 10 min block? I like your choice of stripes and calm gold/yellow. Two thumbs up! A happy quilt! Thanks for sharing!
Sometimes you just have to sit in a chair and jog in order to get anywhere.

The block I used is from the Craftsy Block of the Month class I'm taking online. It's one of the June blocks & is called Octagon Block Pattern. I thought this block would show a good amount of the owl fabric. I love the owls! Thanks for asking.

I was wondering if it weren't a type of 9-patch variation? At first I thought maybe it was some type of "Greek Cross" but I dunno. Whatever the pattern, it's absolitely adorable! I'll bet your friend is thanking her lucky stars that she brought you back into the fold... LOL!
