That is really lovely. I don't think it is too bright at all. Really love those peacocks.

When I ask my granddaughter what her favorite color is she answered "All the colors".... I love all the bright colors too.

I'm making my own templates out of mylar. It seems to give better edges when you turn them under.

I fell in love with this quilt - and my colors are very similar to the ones you chose. Yours is lovely, I don't think it is too bright at all. I started mine a year ago and it is almost finished, working on the last border. I will post a picture when the quilting is completed (that may take another couple of months). I would love to see any others out there who have done this quilt.

I love the colors, they don't seem to be shouting at all, just really cheery pop of color. I really really like it

The birds are Distlefinks, I did some research when I first saw this pattern and the Distlefinks were popular in the the German and Polish immigrant quilts in the 1800's. They typically were found in the Pennsylvania region. So your eye for the folk art is right on. This pattern was designed by Erin Russek, its Called My Tweets.

You must be used to using lighter or duller colors like I was and now I really enjoy adding some zing to my work with some bright colors. I like it.
