No, it screams, "Look how pretty I am", pastels would not have been okay at all.

I think it is just beautiful, but I know what you mean. I am working on one now with the same thought. I attempted a very gentle palette but it didn't turn out quite like I had imagined. They look different when cut and sewn, but I think yours is right on. Beautiful.

Very pretty! It is nice and bright…Lovely! I understand where you're coming from. I had that same thought when I completed an appliqué block I am working on at the moment but had not been the one to choose the fabrics or colours. I am sure it will all turn out fine in the end, for both you and me. Best wishes.
