    Your Singer looks like the one I learned to sew on sometime in the previous century. :) It had a green cardboard attachment box, but the cabinet wasn't as fancy as yours, just a swinging door with place for attachments and thread on the side. Do you know the date of your machine?
    The old Singer stitched like a dream. My mom even used metallic thread to quilt a vest. She had no problem with the thread breaking. I did one on a new "fancy" machine and my thread broke like crazy.
