This Year’s Birthday Quilt for my Niece
So I have made another quilt for my niece’s birthday. This year I went with a log cabin using the Quilt in a Day pattern.
I wanted to make a rainbow type quilt, but I kinda goofed the colors. I still like the quilt, but it turned out different than how I pictured it when I gathered materials.
I used a Kona New Colors jelly roll and a Kaufman “Little Rain” jelly for the top. I had to buy some supplemental Kona solids to make up for the light color solids included in the roll. The backing is Farm Fresh from Moda and some keepsake calico from Joann for the binding.
For the quilting I did the old standby of serpentine stitch on my domestic machine with rainbow thread.
