This year's student bookmarks.
I realized when I laid them out that I need to do one more--a new student arrived a few months ago and her name wasn't on the class list I used for notes. I add a few new fabrics to the bookmark stash collection every year. I ask for favorite sport, season, color, animal, hobby... and go from there. This year many boys like pink, and one of my girls plays hockey... there are two who like tigers best, and several lacrosse players. It's fun to try to keep up!
Photos show fronts, then backs. I need names pinned until they're given--I'd never remember who gets which otherwise.

What a wonderful thing to do!!! I've heard a quote something about teaching a subject vs. teaching a STUDENT. You obviously teach the students. They will remember how much you cared about them every time they read a book. What a great connection!

Thanks. I've had many parents tell me their child still uses their bookmark--years later. I used to give them as Christmas gifts--they each get two books from me then, but now I give them in June--timing is better for me.

I had to piece the panda back--it was the last of the fabric. I'll search for more if it's someone's favorite next year. ;-) I have a zebra lover this year--so that was added to the collection. I tried to match tassels with favorite colors, but couldn't match periwinkle. lol One boy--who has a great sense of humor--said "ducks" was his favorite animal. The only fabric I had with ducks is rubber duckies... so it will be fun to see how that goes over. There are a few ducks on his best friend's bookmark too... they can remember each other that way. ;-)
