Yep, Another New Purse with FMQ

Here's a quilted purse I finished today. My daughter gave me these beautiful fabrics, and I did some fun FMQ on this bag. I love the way this one turned out and just had to share with you all!

Wow! That looks like one of those really expensive designer bags. I think you have a winner there and you know it is unique. Great job and thanks for showing us. Your FMQ is wonderful!

Hi GrandmaSewNSew~ I do the FMQing on the fabric before I assemble the bag. I cut the pieces out a bit larger than the pattern, layer them with batting or fusible fleece, mark the finished size on the fabric, and do the free motion quilting at that point. Once that's done, I cut it down the actually pattern size and then assemble the bag and line. Essentially, I'm handling my FMQ'd pieces as the outside fabric of the bag.

Thank you Wendy. Again, it's just beautiful. I'm not good at explaining my questions. What I really wanted to know is how do you get your stitches to look so good? They're all so even and look hand-stitched with little spaces in between. My FMQ never has those little spaces between the stitches even when I use contrasting thread like you do.
    You really are an artist!
