Beautiful quilt! I want to try some machine embroidery quilting, but I only have a 5x7 hoop. I may have to resort to trying it with a QAYG technique. Any suggestions?

if you can afford it, get a magnetic hoop.
those make it so much easier to position and manage a quilt sandwich.
not critical, but worth every penny if you can fit it into your budget.

then you'll need to practice lining up smaller motifs with each other in order to fill a block.
you can find convenient sizes of single-run motifs at

reasonably priced, too.
