I have also made both Stack & Whack using the setting triangles and the OBW without the setting triangles and I much prefer your second layout without the dark blue separating setting triangles. IMHO I do agree that the OBW are so much fun to make and to play with the layout. Enjoy whatever your final decision is.

I go with the others - the triangles seem to me to "break the mood". I would also suggest removing the one that has the white cross in the middle.

I like your second version better. It has the feel of a real stormy night. This is working towards fabulous.

I would like to say, Be careful with that stark white snow flake. At this point in the construction it seems out of place and interups the flow of all that wonderful storm going on around it. I understand that you are not done yet, just something to keep in mind as you progress.

This is going to be so 'cool' when done!
peace

I absolutely agree. Love it except for the white. My choice would be layout number 2.

Thanks! Sounds like a unanimous decision.
I am going to make several paper pieced blocks with white but they will likely all end up in the borders.

Ilike the 2nd layout, but I think the block with the white just doesn't fit in with the rest, too much with the rest of them, but thats just my opinion.

I love it without the setting triangles too. It's going to be beautiful!
