Use black.

I agree, use the same size as the narrow strip in the block. You don't want too many different sized strips, it gets confusing to the eye. Then use the same width for a small outer border and then a width of the biggeer block, in the block, for an outer border. This makes it all be cohesive. Also try and use one of the colors in the block for the outer border and then bind with the same fabric. Jan

By using a narrow strip in black would sure set it off and make the colors pop.

you could cut the maroon in half and add brown to it. would make two colors in between and that might please your eye more.

I ditched the fabric, bought some light beige. I have to quilts to finish before I start my new job on Monday...I really want to start some of my other new projects, but NO...I will finish these first. I did get the kitty quilt done so I know I can get my self motivated to finish my other two lap quilts...then some mug rugs.

I changed my mind again...used brown for a sash...first time sashing. Not too bad then I added a border. I was going to make this bigger, but decided to use fleece for backing and no batting and give it to my dad as a lap quilt. Just need to finish the binding this weekend.

Don't you hate when that happens? I wonder what kind of lights they use in the stores?

I finally finished!!! I spent the entire day putting on the binding. My dad will be heading back to FL soon and I wanted to give it to him before he leaves. Woohoo...
