I don't know about you all, but one of the things I love most about quilting is that it is so versatile. It allows such a range of creativity that it appeals to many tastes and styles. Here are to VERY different blocks I've made recently that are a perfect example of why I feel this way :)

For those who prefer a more traditional look :) - this will be a quilt for my in-laws

For those who prefer a more fresh, modern look :) - this will be a quilt for me

Great blocks, I just love that first one. I have had my eye on that one from a pattern I printed on line. I really have been thinking about doing something with that block, not sure what. The second block looks cool, How did you put that one together, and do you have a pattern? It sort of looks like the friendship star but done a little different.

That first block I found in quilterscache. called the "double z" Is this the one you are doing? I just love the way yours turned out.

Thanks! The second one is called a spiderweb block - I used the tutorial found here:

Such good choices...I wish I could see like that when I look at the newer fabrics...maybe as I quilt longer I will see different looks...good job.
