Has anyone used this software? Does it figure your amount of fabric to buy? I cannot even afford the Electric Quilt 7 software, so thinking about this much less expensive quilting software.
Maybe there is other design software out there, I do not know about. I could use the help with designing and the amount of fabric to buy for my quilting projects. Hoping someone may be about to help. Thanks, Hugs, Dee |
hi Dee, I was looking at differnt programs just last night. I'm with you cannot afford the good stuff. So i will be watching this post with you :)

I have it and can't figure it out.
I can do Excel, Access, Word, etc. This is a complete puzzle for me. It was a waste of my money, just my thoughts. I hope someone chimes in that was successful with it. |
are you talking about this software program:
http://www.electricquilt.com/Shop/QDW/QDW.asp It's on sale right now for $20 and I believe it's downloadable. I've used it and it will print your design and calculate your yardage. But like EQ (I have EQ5) it will calculate what you need for each fabric type. Sometimes it over calculates, but I would rather have too much then not enough. Just a thought Mona |
I forgot to mention, I found it simple to use but very limiting in that you can not design your own blocks, you have to use the pre-progamed blocks. Though there are a lot of them in the program. :)

It is the only one I have and I love it!! You are limited but if you have never used the higher priced ones and want a starting point I think it is goo. It give yardage and cutting and sewing instructions.

I have the qpro6 and have a hard time with it I get about half way through a design and loose it
|
I have it and find it very easy to use. It has videos to learn how to do things. It is very limited but give you yardage, Rotary cutting guides, and full size templates. It's great to start with. My DH just ordered EQ7 for my birthday so I hope I'll learn that one as easy.
