Are any of you like me that buy fabric because it is so pretty and you just have to have it? Then it gets added to your stash and it sits there because it is just to pretty to cut. So we go out and get another pretty peice and start all over again. Now we could have one of those TV shows called "Stashers".

I have done that very thing! So I have these pieces that are so difficult to cut, because they have to be saved for "the perfect project". It helps me cut into it when I imagine my estate sale (so many years in the future, I hope!) and the salesman saying to the purchaser "She DID have a lot of beautiful material, and never used it--I don't know why..."
It helps me make the first cut, morose, I know, but it works....:)

You are sooo right....there should be a show called "Stashers". HAHA

I'm always afraid if I cut into a gorgeous piece and it only takes a small portion of it that I'll wish later that I had the whole piece to use!! Just use it, I tell myself, you've got plenty of others!

I have 5 bookcases in my room holding fabric. I went thru the process of folding it all on the boards and making it all pretty. let me add here that there are plastics tubs full still waiting. I looked at that one day and said....Why? I buy it to make pretty things with. Not much is tagged for a certain project ~ why do I torture myself like this? My hub bought me a accuquilt for Christmas. I started with all my fat quarters and have been moving on from there. I have randomly been cutting shapes. Now instead of bookcases full of fabric I am working my way to plastic boxes full of shapes ready to sew at a moments notice. I see scrappy quilts in my future..hopefully LOTS & LOTS of scrappy! =)

My stash, such as it is, mostly comes from buying fabric that I think will be perfect and then rethinking it. Or buying too much. But it's a win,win I guess. I don't have a big stash, I don't have much room for storage, and I don't like a big mess.

Not only is some fabric too pretty to cut, if I do use it I feel sad because I don't have it anymore. I think I have a logic problem.
