I have been to the one in Cosby. It is worth the drive. Also there used to be some little shops behind the Old Mill Restaurant in Pigeon Forge. They had lots of patterns.

That one is still there. We were in Pigeon Forge two weeks ago and I bought some fabric there for a bag for my daughter. They have tons of patterns and some pretty nice fabric, too.

I just went there in May. Machine Quilting by Iva and The Cherry Pit are both very nice stores!

What larger cities will you pass by on your way?

I have heard of the Appilachian Quilt Trail. I would google that and see what comes up.

I sent my sister-in-law an email. She has traveled that route many times.

Check out this site for AL: http://www.quilt.com/Stores/SouthEast/Alabama.html

Here's one for southeast TN: http://www.quilt.com/Stores/SouthEast/Tennessee.html

Please check to see if the shop is still in business before you go out of your way.

Ask as you go if there is a quilt shop that can be recommended. Sometimes you'll find a gem tucked away in a little town.

Have a great trip!

what a small small world. Our son was stationed in Egypt for a year and found a truck that he wanted us to go buy (online) with his money- so that he would have a nice truck waiting for him when he got home. We live in ill and the truck was in seiverville tenn. I would have went because I love to go to different quilt shops when i travel- but i had to work.
