Has anyone ever started a new sewing circle? I'd like to find new friends in town that share my interest in quilting. Any advise for me as I start my new circle?
I found a space in a fabric store, it's a unique place, in the area of town near my home. She has lots of space, a few basic machines, cutting area, cutting mats etc. She is going to charge $5/ hour which is reasonable. I made a flyer, picked a day & time. Now I need to put up my posters. |
This sounds like so much fun! If I lived there I would come! Good luck!

I've started 3 since I moved to NH 15 years ago.
Two met in our homes (most of the friends in both groups have moved away) We met weekly in both* The 3rd meets at our local library - it's free as long as it's open to anyone who wishes to come. It meets once a month. * the 2nd started after the 1st dissolved Have fun |
How fun! Wish I were closer too!

I started on at a salvation Army in my community earlier this year. The Army gave the space free, The only requirement was that you supply your materials. People came, but could not afford material. We share equipments, collect scraps to learn on and use old clothes from thrift shop, Share Joanne coupons for buying material and have a good time learning from each other. Adv. with posters and they will come. good luck Word of mouth will spread fast when it's free.
