I wanted to share a few of the pictures I took at the quilt show in Hershey. There were so many lovely quilts (too many to take pictures of). I wanted to share one that a man of 72 had pieced and quilted himself. He did not get any acclaim for his work, but in my opinion he deserved some recognition. :) I hope you enjoy seeing his and others I have posted.
Also the antique quilts were exquisive, I only wish we could of taken pictures, but I understand their rules on that. They were in such wonderful condition for the ages of them.. They went back as far as the 1830's. The applique work was so unbelievable! I truly enjoyed the exhibit. Sharon 72 yr old man's first quilt! The notecard on the 1776 quilt is hysterical. Amazing work to replicate that quilt in its entirety.
I've always liked that show - I was lucky to attend it when it was held in Gettysburg for many years. Thanks for sharing the pictures. |
