As most of you know by now I use a lot of quilts and have no problem chucking them in the washing machine. Most times I just put them in a quick wash, 30 degrees, and washing liquid and fabric conditioner, no probs at all. Other times if I just want to freshen them I put them in a rinse only, cold wash, with fabric conditioner again no probs but today I came up with a possible problem. I have a lovely quilt, that is hand quilted and has been a real labour of love, made by somebody that got fed up with it and gave it to me, I have loads of such projects tucked away :roll:

Anyway I finished it with hand quilting, my first ever endeavour, cotton backed it and use it as my show piece top quilt and I GOT BLOOD ON IT from a graze on my leg :shock:

I phoned my Sis in a panic and she suggested putting it in the washing machine on a cold rinse with a handful of salt and wonders of wonders it has come out perfect, and I mean perfect. The blood had well dried in as it was over a week or more ago that I had the graze and it has taken it all out and left the quilt lovely and fresh and clean. It is now out on the balcony drying, I am giving my Sis a diploma for specialist quilt cleaning [img]http://bestsmileys.com/clapping/3.gif[/img]

try peroxide....it might do the trick

30C = 86F
