Moda Warehouse

I've been reading about people going to the Moda 'warehouse' and buying fabric. I love Moda fabrics, I've discovered that I have one within driving distance. So here are my questions:

Do I have to by a whole bolt, or can i BBY?
Is it a better price than what I will pay for it at my LQS or Hancocks(they have a tiny moda selection)?

NEVER MIND...ANSWERED MY OWN QUESTION...lol

Wow - that would be a dream shopping trip for me - I would think you would need a business license for access? But I don't know - I will be interested to find out what happens.

Where are the Moda Warehouses located? I just tried to google it and also tried the Moda website.

I think the Moda warehouse is in Dallas where their headquarters is located. Haven't heard of any other location..

So where is the one within driving distance in E. TX? And do you have to buy the whole bolt?

Yes, it is Dallas, I'm only 150 miles away :) :D ...i was told there was one near Atlanta and another one in California, but I couldn't find them listed. I have a call into the Customer Service Desk about non-retail wholesale purchases, but my next move is to approach my LQS and see if they would see to me at cost, since I'm wanting specific bolts to use on quilts that are auctioned off to support a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue so the 'profit' they are giving away would be tax deductable. I don't need it free, although that would be grand...just much cheaper than retail lol

hmmm... profit that is not made is not tax deductible. Still, I think the LQS might be willing to help you out. You might also contact the warehouse and ask if they will sell to a non-profit directly.

You do have to set up an account, I am not sure what the parameters are. I do know that if you do not have a "House" account (what shops have) and you go with just a tax id you have I believe a $250 minimum. Everything is on bolts and yes you do have to buy the whole bolt. It is not like a retail store, they don't have people to help you. The people working in there are pulling orders and getting them ready to ship out to Shops.

By the way their name is United Notions, that might help you to find them.
