Prairie Points on a baby quilt
I am thinking of doing prairie points on a baby quilt, it is not that large and I think this would be good to try for a first time. I have searched on line, looking at the way Kaye Woods does it in one section. Just not sure which is the easiest and best way to do them. They look complicated though as compared to regular binding. Thanks for any suggestions.

They are more time consuming than reg. binding, but easy and really are cute!

Here is a good explanation of how to do it. http://piecesofranaslife.blogspot.co...ne-fabric.html It really is pretty simple to do.

I have done several quilts over the years with prairie points. Just need to pin a lot or baste them on. They give a really nice look.

Thank you for the responses, am looking at the link and I am going to try this on this little quilt. Then I will know if I want to do something like this again.

And they are not really that hard to do---just takes a bit more time. |
Found this on u tube, I think it is the method I will use. Seems easy enough and the lady doing video says it is fun, will see.....

Prpts don't replace the binding. They are an addition to the quilt and the binding is attached after the Prpts.
PrPts are really easy. Try on a sample before doing the baby quilt. The binding is no harder to do with or without PrPts. Enjoy them. peace |

I just cut and fold the squares and slip them next to each other with whatever spacing I need to make them fit. It is more casual. and IMHO, less work that cuting and folding a strip of points. |
