Would my idea look good?
I am beginning a jelly roll quilt for my 88 yr. old Mom's birthday the end of January. Her favorite color is pink so I'm using various shades, mostly very colorful/bright hues, and eliminating very light pink fabrics.
If I ever make myself such a quilt, I plan to attach a 2.5" black solid square on both ends of the jelly roll strips as accents. I've seen very attractive pink/black quilts. I don't think my Mom would like black in hers, so was wondering if solid white squares would look good. Using the white is why I would not use VERY light pinks. Any opinions? |
I think pink and black would look nice, but since you don't think your mom would like the black, don't forget that a dark brown would also look awesome. Either way, I'm sure that she'll love it.

White would work, but why not use pale pink (since most of your fabrics are "very colorful/bright hues")? I think it would be lovelier but still give the eye a place to rest.

Lime green

I love pink and white together. look in my closet, everything is pink and white, summer or winter. go for it

I agree with sushi, in that pure white may be a little stark, but I think you know your Mom's tastes best.

White would be fine, but I agree with sushi - if you have the pale pink, it would look great.

So many options. Now I'm wondering about a medium gray.
|
medium grey sounds lovely too.

Grey with pink is classy and restful. I also like green with pink as long as it doesn't look juvenile for your mom.
