Tomorrow DH and are heading to a machine shop recommended by a fellow QB member near me. My christmas gift was any machine I wanted to add to the collection. We looked as everything between portable class machines to long arms. And decided on a solid secondary machine with big harp, capable of putting on a frame, and able to do everything but embroidery when the viking is in for its regular service. Dependable, solid, and easy to deal with were also factors.

and the winner is.......Janome 8900QCP

if anyone has anything negative to say about this machine i sure would like to hear it. So far all I have seen have been glowing reviews.

I don't know about that model but I have two Janomes and they haven't given me any problems.

Good for you. My Birthday/ Christmas gift was a Janome 6600P. So far I looove it!

Go for it. I have this machine and LOVE it.

I don't have any experience with that particular model, but my Janome 4000 is still going strong and I love it. I'd say if you have the means to do so, go for it.

Write the cheque. I have 4 Janomes and am about to get another next month. You won't regret it.
