Quilt as you go minions

1 Attachment(s)
I have an idea of making a quilt for my boy (he wanted to have his sisters quilt). I wanted to use his favorite characters such as the "minions" and lightning mcqueen.

I'm not very skilled in digitizing so there were lots of jumping stitches in places where it didn't do me any good. I need to learn how to minimize the jumping stitches. Any good advice? Youtube wasn't my friend in this case since most videos is on filled embroidery.

Here's my first minion:

I think it looks great! I'm sure he will love it.

I have no idea about the digitizing stuff, but that is the cutest thing ;-)

I think you did a great job myself. Just leave the pants. did you make them too?

It's very cute! I also know nothing about digitizing.

learning digitizing is very complicated. since we are a quilting group, it would be better to find an embroidery group to get help with that. your minion is cute.

With my embroidery software the first line you draw is the first path that's stitched, so if you can lay out your design in some kind of order that's the way it will stitch. Having said that, your design is great! Since you are only going to do a few of each design, I would just spend my time embroidering and cutting the jump stitches rather than trying to refine the design.
