A challenge quilt

In our little quilt group we are going to make a quilt or a block that represents a song. I would appreciate any ideas. TY head of time!

Do you have a special song in mind?

No I was looking for a song that I could make into a quilt or a quilt block. I did one many years ago to Elvis's Hound Dog. I did a picture of a dog and everyone knew that was the song I did it for. This is a different group doing this challenge.

That sounds like so much fun. Instantly i thought of the Beatles, so many of their songs are visual. Blackbird could be fun, the first line is pretty recognizable and easy to see. "Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these broken wings and learn to fly"

I bet i would pick a song no one would understand or figure out, i'm usually a bit "out there"

Turn on the radio and close your eyes. I bet you find something that's in a song you enjoy and that would probably make the project even more fun for you.

TY Carrie. I am open to all suggestions.

Somewhere, over the Rainbow...
Itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini
One eyed, one horned, flying purple people eater (which I'm going to be singing in my head all day)
Red roses, for a blue lady
Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree
too bad it's not Halloween: Monster mash

This is such a fun post! If you go to this site, you can put a year in (year you were born, graduated, married etc) and it will list the top 100 songs from that year.

Some off the top of my head are "Going 'Round in Circles" but don't remember who sings it, "On Top of the World" by The Carpenters, "Tie a Yellow Ribbon ('Round the Old Oak Tree) by Tony Orlando and Dawn. Others could be "Yellow Rose of Texas", "Blue Moon of Kentucky" by Elvis, "Gonna Find Me a Bluebird" by Marvin Rainwater, "Run for the Roses" by Dan Fogelberg or "A-B-C" by The Jackson 5. I am an oldies freak, and my kids say I can come up with lyrics from a song for almost any conversation, lol

Every time I hear Tapestry by Carole King I think of a brightly colored quilt.
