Plan "B" in progress.
2 Attachment(s)
Hello all,
A few months back I made a quilt for my granddaughter for her murphy bed. Plans at the time was to make a drop down desk that would stow away when the bed was in use. Everything was made and hardware was purchased and I was ready to install. Well my daughter decided to opt for a stand alone desk for Kylee. Soooooooooo, now what to do, what to do! AhHa, put plan "B" into effect:). The following picture will show how to spruce up a vintage Riccar machine with a desk top. I think this may help with bindings and I am trying my hand at FMQ. Enjoy. That's really nice!!

That's a nice setup.

Very cool. You may find that during FMQing the quilt will catch on the corners. You could always round them off so the quilt doesn't get stuck. Did you use a cabinet door or?

Very nice.

What great thinking on your part! This looks like it has lots of space to maneuver a quilt for fmq.

Plan B is a winner!! Sometimes it's good when Plan A changes.

I love plan B! That's a great setup! The best of both worlds-a large work area like a cabinet machine but it's portable and you can store it easily when it's not being used.
Great idea Rodney! Rodney |
