Crayon border?

1 Attachment(s)
I bought this Timeless Treasure fabric thinking it would work for my border. I tried the pencil crayons lengthwise and it was too busy. If I use the pencil crayon sideways (picture) then it is not wide enough (45) to go all across the top if I add the side borders. I could add cornerstones but that does not appeal to me.
OR use the pencil crayon fabic across just the top and bottom and then the black binding?
OR no added borders, quilt and bind with black?
What do you all think?

I hope my english is good enough...
I would use the crayon fabric for the back, if there is not enough fabric you can mix it with the red fabric, also the back with stripes in red and the crayon fabric. The binding only in black.

I would quilt and bind with black. Anything else seems to take away from the crayons. They stand on their own. Very dramatic quilt. Nice job.

No suggestions, but I sure like your quilt

I like the red border! It really makes your colors pop. I may try doing this quilt that is how much I love it.

I would just quilt and bind in black, let the bright crayons be the focus of the top. Then use the print, red and black pieced together for the back. Very cute quilt!! You always do such good work!!😊

i agree with karina. but if you like the crayon fabric border, i'd cut it so all sides are perpendicular to the center. it's looking really good!

I would add a really thin red stop border then another wider black border and I would cut the crayon fabric on the bias and use that to bind.

What about a skinny accent with the red and then the crayon fabric? I like the black binding. Turning out to be real cute.

Drat! But I agree that border fabric isn't doing it for those colourful crayons! Fun idea to cut it on the bias if you have enough to use for binding.
