I'm going batting crazy!

I have been saving extra pieces of batting, thinking there HAS to be a good use for them. Some of the narrow strips I use in the straps of bags/totes. But what do I use the wider, however not over 3" wide, for? I tried using some in the making of stuffed animals and pillows, but they just didn't feel right. The strips are not wide enough to convince me to sew/tape them together for anything larger than a small table runner or table topper. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Cut them into strips about 8-9" long and use them for dust cloths, then pitch. I use pieces of W&N as mulch in my flower beds. The cotton breaks down, I've never seen the scrim, but I don't use it in vegetable patches.

My DH said that the adoption groups he sees at the pet food store say they'll take batting scraps for making dog beds.

I also cut mine for cleaning--they can be attached to a Swiffer head; also keep some 4" squares behind my machine to gather up threads and lint at the end of the day.

I have been making dog quilts spraying the backing with basting spray, laying out the scraps of batting then I pin the top fabric on and then quilt.

My guild is swimming in batting leftovers from all the LA members. It's free to anyone that want any. When the mess gets out of hand, we stuff old pillowcases with it, sew it closed and take to the animal shelter.

I zig zag my strips together and then cut them into squares. I stack them 2 or 3 high and use them for pot holder stuffing.

I use mine in pot holders, mug rugs, coasters, etc.
