Fold & Sew

Hi everyone,

I have made some samples of the fold and sew blocks. I really like the idea of using the 10", 5"and 2" squares. She has so many different blocks to try. My next project will be to make a small wall hanging. You can make a quilt as you go adding 2 1/2 stripes to the blocks. You can also quilt or embroidery on the blocks as you go.
I will post some pictures of them later today.

To all the Mother's out there I wish you a Happy Mother's Day!!!!!

Thanks,
Sunnydays Kathy

I've used Fold and Sew for many small quilts. It's fun. I'm a mom so thank you for the good wishes to day!

I have never heard of fold and sew before. Will await the pictures.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you end up with a double thickness of fabric where the center square is centered over the larger square? I'm referring to the square in a square from Quiltmaker Magazine.

If I'm on the same pattern. You put the second square on top of first the cut second diagonally to make a bigger square. Then put a bigger square on new size sew round edges and cut diagonally using scissors.

You can find her on You Tube her name is Peg Spradlin . She is with the National Quilters Circle. Hope this helps. I have made 4 quilts this way. Fast and easy.

I went and watched the video. WOW! I am going to try that. I have a baby quilt to make and that looks like something I want to play with.

Me either, I'm very curious. Is there a tutorial I can look at? I do some quilt as you go and it sounds a bit like it.
