Muslin for wall quilts yes or no?

I'm just curious if anyone here uses muslin for wall hangings or table runners where the back isn't ever really going to be seen. I've been thinking about doing this but I can't decide if I should or not. I know I can do anything but want to get your opinion.
Thank you

Yes why not? I sell alot of small projects for my craft sales and hate using up all my good fabric.I like the darker muslin and love using good quality muslin for my bed
quilt backings.......

I use good quality muslin for tops and backs. It is so versatile. Someone once gave me a huge bolt and I used it as a plain instead of white for many many quilts.

Sure, why not? I use muslin a lot. I've used great wide muslin for quilt backings too. Muslin is a great fabric, it becomes softer and softer with use, laundering and holds up well. I have quilts from the very early 1900's with muslin backs that are lovely, soft and wonderful. I don't know why you would be leery of using muslin. I use it for backgrounds for appliquéd blocks and embroidered blocks too. Muslin is a basic, staple fabric. ( like many fabrics there are different qualities of muslin. There is very thin, cheap muslin and there is very nice, quality muslin. )

For the one and only large wall hanging I made for the daughter in law I used muslin. No one sees the back.

I use muslin on bed quilts. Works great.

I'll use muslin for just about anything. including clothes. I have some decent white muslin I've used in actual piecing. Didn't hurt a thing.

I don't usually make wall hangings, but I love to use muslin on the back of bed quilts.

So glad to see there are more muslin users other than me. I use good quality muslin on backs of everything...soft as a marshmallow when laundered..and also use in piecing for a traditional looking block design. Have also made curtains from it....country-look. Why use prints on backs...just a way for stores to sell more fabric....

I'm also a fan of quality muslin. Love the drape and feel of it.
