Most all irons leak after a time, some sooner then others. So far my Classic Black and Decker has lasted the longest but it isn't high wattage.

I've never had an issue with my Rowenta's leaking except when they've been overfilled. I do believe it makes a difference as to type of water used. Some Rowenta's want distilled; others tap. I think it's prudent to follow the manufacturer's directions.

My Rowenta leaked really bad so it sits on a shelf. I think I'll get it out now as I don't use steam as much as I used to.

Mine leaked after about one year, my husband wanted to look at it but I told him it's probably not worth it. It is still sitting on his side of the master bathroom sink. : P

You'll be happy with the Shark. Just be sure to use the type of water that the instructions specify. It does make a difference.

I had one. Leaked from the first day when I bought it to the last day I used it. I used it for a few more years, but kept a spay bottle handy. After I tossed it, I found out that it depends on who manufactured it. Germany, no leak, China, leaks. If I ever see a German made, I will buy it.

I just purchased the Rowenta Project Runway 1750 Watt Floral Design Steam Iron approx. a month ago on ebay for $55.00. Love it!!! No problems. I had a Rowenta iron and had no problems with it whatsoever, but then when I saw this one - it is purple! - I just had to buy it too! I like it and it is heavier than my other Rowenta. Great irons (IMO)
