Harvey

It appears that Harvey is going to be at least a tropical storm. Here in Houston, I'm apparently going to be on the dirty side of the storm which isn't a good thing. We're expecting a lot of rain this weekend. Hopefully, no high winds. Everyone who is in Harvey's path, be prepared and stay safe.

Oh dear. We moved from South Louisiana and the one thing I don't worry about anymore is a hurricane. Of course I still worry about my friends. By the time any remnants would reach here, they would be minimal if at all noticeable. I hope it all comes and goes with no real problems.

I saw on the weather that some spots may get a foot of rain. I hope you are spared the worst of it!

Prayers for you and yours.

Thanks, everyone.

Alyce, still keep an eye on them. Hurricanes can go pretty far inland. When Ike came thru my friend near Bowling Green, KY had more damage to her house than I did to mine mostly because she never thought it would get to her and hadn't trimmed her trees up or prepared in any way.

Yes, I"m up near Conroe so more bad rain for us. I'm on well water so i told my son to be ready to fill a large plastic tub in the garage if it looks like we will lose water service. At least we'd have water to flush the toilet with.

I bottle water from the tap and fill the dogs big self watering dishes. If it looks like it's going to be really bad I have filled the bathtubs and some large buckets for cleaning up and flushing water. So far, I don't think this is going to be that bad. Mostly just a lot of rain. I do feel for the people in my neighborhood who lived near the bayou. Some of them are just getting their houses back together from the tax day flood in 2016

Accuweather and Fox Weather say Harvey will be at least a Cat 2 hurricane. I saw a forecast for excessive rain up to Waco and just about halfway to Dallas.

ABC just announced it is cat 3 now. 12-20" of rain, 30" in some isolated areas. :(

Hoping that the rain doesn't come all at once. It's going to sit over us for several days before moving on & Houston is known for flooding streets. Praying for safety for everyone in harm's way.
