A week of finishes.....

So this week I finally got around to binding and hanging my first big paper pieced project (it’s About 60x60).
I also finished off some coasters my husband wanted in a subtle ‘Marvel’ theme. im not really happy with the binding - I haven’t found a good way to finish off coasters yet but I’ll keep persevering. While I was in the zone I also made my first ever bag - it even has a lining and pockets so I’m really pleased. Will definitely be making more of these as gifts. |

I couldn’t put the coasters on the last post for some reason

I love your little wonky houses! They are super cute! I love the bag, also. Really nice.

Love your houses!
Try the "birthing" method for finishing coasters without a binding. Eliminates all the problems you are having. |
All are so nice. Really love the tote-nice work.
|
all nicely done

I love that houses quilt! Your other projects are great too ...that quilt, just wow!

Great work. I love the houses.

Love your projects and congrats on nice finishes.
For the coaster binding you can cut the backing fabric bigger. I think I added about 1 1/2 inches on each side for the backing. Then fold the edge at 3/4 inch and fold again. You can miter at the corners similar to traditional binding. Press the folded binding and stitch down. Some directions call for one inch on each side for the backing. I found it wasn't quite enough fabric to get the folds down and look right. This video shows one inch extra on the backing fabric. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npTvVGouO6Y Enjoy! |
