Finished Wine Country
2 Attachment(s)
From the Fons&Porter's Quilting Quickly, I finished the Wine Country quilt I will give to my friend today. I've attached the tutorial from YouTube where you can see how easy it is to put together.
The strips were already sewn from my Aunt's stash (now mine), so I cut and assembled. I noticed a wave on top and bottom after I laid it out flat. Is that from the binding being stretched as I sewed it? Or the quilter stretching it as it got quilted? It seemed pretty square and flat when I started so I'm pointing the error my direction. The back is obviously different from the pattern. My aunt put 5yds of the black crackle leaf print in the same box and I also had other batiks so I created a pieced back. watch quilting quickly wine country. Lovely quilt! It is an art to sew the binding on neither too tight or not tight enough. I lay my quilt out on a flat surface after each side of the binding is sewn on if I have a quilt with stretchy piecing. You might have more luck using a walking foot to sew on your binding.

It's gorgeous, front and back.

Very pretty quilt.

Love your quilt. The fabrics are so pretty and the pattern adds such interest. Did you check the quilt and actually square the quilt? Don't pull or tug the binding when attaching to the quilt. Do you have a walking foot for your machine?
Thanks for the inspiration. I watched the video and considering using the pattern for a scrappy quilt. Thanks! |
Beautiful quilt! The colors are so rich.

A lovely finish...nice that you are putting your Aunt’s stash to good use. Thank you for sharing the video and your wonderful quilt.
