Grace Start-Right parts?

My sister is heartbroken. Her Grace Start Right has had a broken plastic bracket for a while, and we're getting new ones made for her, but in removing them one of the ratchet assemblies that holds the poles broke. Grace no longer supports the product. Anyone know where she can find parts?

I know this feeling very well! I have the original grace frame and am currently struggling with it. the boards are sagging and there is no repair for this either. I have had to arig a couple pieces and once had a friend make me a new support piece. I am so ready for an upgrade. I wish I could help you out.

Is this a hand quilting frame or machine? do you have a picture of part needed?

Does she know anyone that has a 3D printer and would 3D plastic parts work?

I would give these guys a call

https://khkgears.net

You need to tell them you are looking for a plastic 30 tooth gear...before you call you will need to know these measurements:
The diameter of the hole..(if they don't have the exact size, you can get a smaller hole and drill it out)
the distance between the outside of the hole to the tip of the gear
the thickness of the gear you have
from tip to tip across center
I would also take a couple of good pics and have them ready because they'll probably ask.

As an afterthought...if you don't want to go that route(or they don't have it), you can get a good quality epoxy and glue a circle of thin plexiglass to the wheel you broke..if you broke a tooth, that won't help you.

I'm not familiar with the part you're talking about, but I would go the route of finding someone who could make replacements, whether it be from a 3D printer (check your local high schools and colleges) or machined out of metal. And I would consider having multiples made, just in case another one breaks.

eBay has everything if you look long enough.

Years ago when I had a Grace frame I found Kathyquilts.com. They are a Grace dealer and helped me with all kinds of parts and advice. Contact her husband Lynn to see if he can help find what you need.

Did you ever find a replacement bracket for the Start Right Frame or did you upgrade? I have broken bracket also, I am looking to find someone who is selling parts for it.

OP hasn't been on the forum in 4 years and is unlikely to see your question.
