Red, White, and Blue

Last year I designed a patriotic quilt with four stripes for a friend. I named it "God Bless Dianna." Here is a link to that quilt: https://www.quiltingboard.com/pictur...a-t304777.html
I wondered if I could do a better job of quilting on a second/bigger quilt with six stripes so I redesigned and enlarged the pattern. The answer is "no" on the quilting. The dense quilting that I did on the navy borders is almost invisible. I named this one "God Bless America." It finished at 68" x 86." Attachment 621782 Attachment 621785 I had some orphan blocks left over so I put them together with the thought of making a baby quilt. After it was sewn together, it looked more like the center medallion of a larger quilt: Attachment 621788 I didn't know where to go from there so I got some sage advice and an idea from this thread: https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...t-t307215.html I had plenty of patriotic fabric left over so I turned the center medallion into an 83" x 83" monster. This one I named "Grand Old Stars." Attachment 621786 I think I've now made enough red, white, and blue quilts to last me a lifetime. |
