Singer industrial treadle info.
Hello all, I picked up what I believe to be a Singer No. 2 Standard Industrial Treadle Machine. I’ve only been able to find very limited info and images of these machines and would like any resources and info the great minds here may have. I can only see numbers on the throat plates at the moment which are 913216 and 917216. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated , thanksat best or I'm just not that adept at finding it. I cant locate any serial numbers other than the numbers on the underside of the throat plates. Any and all info as to this machine would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to QB. I believe that it will take a different needle than what are commonly available today. I know there is vintage/antique sewing group on either io.groups or facebook or you could try https://www.victoriansweatshop.com/
Have you seen http://needlebar.org/main/manuals/si...ard/index.html or http://needlebar.org/main/dates/pfaff/index.html We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button. As shown at https://www.quiltingboard.com/8565676-post4.html I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures. https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...p-location.jpg Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...d-t312607.html Another way to post pictures can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/showpo...postcount=1143 And how to use an ipad to post pictures can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/qb-hel...s-t318147.html Or simply - Make sure pictures are smaller than 2MB Click on red "Reply" button Click on the paper clip icon Click browse - choose picture/s. (only 5 allowed per post) Once they show up as being loaded, Scroll over to the right side and click on "Upload" After the pictures show up as being attached, you can close that window and go back to the screen to finish posting your post. Some additional notes - The photos generally need to be reduced to less than 2MB in size. I have heard of people sending an email to themselves as it will ask if you want to reduce the size. I have an android phone and when I tried to reply on Quilting Board while in mobile view None of the options for adding pictures was available. However, there is an option down at the bottom left of the page that is for "Full Site" when I tapped on "Full Site" It then looked like the way it looks on my lap top. So it would have the Red Reply and the Go Advanced options. Do Not Preview post. Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. Not affiliated with off-site link(s) |
Thank you very much for all the great info as my newbie must be showing lol. Yes I tried to upload pics and didn’t accept the file type, then the file size and by the time I figured it out I had used my 20 minute edit allotment. My apologies and thank you again

Have you seen http://needlebar.org/main/manuals/si...ard/index.html or http://needlebar.org/main/dates/pfaff/index.html .... According to https://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_mac...sses-1-99.html there were some #2 made up until 1905. However, the 1905 catalog that can be found on the Smithsonian site starts with Number 3 https://www.sil.si.edu/DigitalCollec...ges/image8.htm Unfortunately the links on this page - http://www.needlebar.org/main/industrial/index.html are dead links, but not very many made. Looking forward to seeing your machine. Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. Not affiliated with off-site link(s) |
