Ideas for making Baby Quilt
|
I've been on a search for designs for my sewing group -- maybe some of the links in this thread might help you!

Baby quilts are my favorite to make because of their size. The quilt can be as simple as using a panel and adding a border.

Me again! I wanted to add another quilt to my previous post, but it wouldn't let me attach 2 photos. (must be my quilted brain)
Here is another fav. baby quilt idea for you! Take a Fat quarter and frame it. Add charm squares around the frame and then add borders. Have fun making your baby quilt and show us what you decide. |

Last year I made three, two in neutrals (the back of a neutral one is shown) and one Disney themed (all requested). The disappearing nine patch for the Disney one made it very quick and easy.

I use a lot of patterns from Villa Rosa Patterns for my Project Linus Quilts for charity. Many are sized for throw quilts which may be too large for a baby, but I've found that making fewer blocks will work for a baby/toddler quilt many times. Patterns are $2 each and many are downloadable.

I believe the quilt copycat posted at https://www.quiltingboard.com/showpo...02&postcount=4 is the one called Speedy Baby 2 and the pattern can be found at https://web.archive.org/web/20091007...peedyBaby2.pdf
|
The Speedy quilt was selected by one of my group members and it helped me pick out some fabrics to donate. Large scale for the middle, coordinating prints for the longer sides and scraps of the right themes for the squares.

I have more creative ideas than I could accomplish in a life time. So I make it whatever size that charity wants. There’s no shortage for infant quilts in this local.
