What brand of quilting thread do you like best.
My favorite brand of quilting thread is Aurifil. There are so many brands on the market now, what is your favorite?

For piecing, I usually use Aurifil. For quilting the quilt sandwich, I like Glide. My Juki seems to live Glide better than anything else.

I like and use Superior thread. I use masterpiece 50 wt cotton for piecing, King Tut 40 wt for machine quilting and 30 wt Treasure for hand quilting. My favorites!

I will use Aurifil, 50 wt. for my piecing. When I hand quilt I will use YLI 40 wt or King Tut 40 wt. For my EPP projects I use Bottom Line 60 wt

My machine really isn't picky when it comes to thread. The quilt I finished yesterday was sewn with Omni, but I also have Aurifil and have used Connecting Threads which is a bit more linty.

I bought a huge lot of So Fine (by Superior) at auction a couple of years ago. I had been using the brand for pre-wound long arm bobbins with good results. Now I use it for everything because I have a life time supply :)
I used Aurifil on the Bernina, it liked that and it also liked the So Fine too. I also bought a collection of colors from a brand I was unfamiliar with, for when requirements call for cotton thread. So far it's been ok when I'm using it. So far I have only used it in piecing and not quilting but it has behaved nicely. Is on sale for Black Friday even! Edit: When I bought it I researched it extensively, although it is imported to/from Germany I believe the cotton is grown and ownership is in China. Just if people care! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PXQHGY7 |
Believe it or not but my Innova seems not to like Aurifil threads They just keep breaking so now I'll use it in the bobbin and for piecing. Connecting Thread's cotton and polyester threads seems to be the favorite with my quilt machine so that's what she gets. I've also used BFC polyester metallic threads on my quilt machine. It works better on the quilt machine than it seems to work on my Viking Epic, GO FIGURE!!!!!
