Wondering if Billy could date my cabinet, Kenmore machine. Her model #120.490. This is the front of her owner's manual. She has a knee lever and many attachments, only a single hole feed dog cover.

the picture looks like this machine: http://tinyurl.com/22r4f95
"This is a 1951 Kenmore Electric Rotary Sewing Machine."

That model is from 1950.

For anyone interested this site will tell you the year Kenmore models came out from 1934-1965.

Thank you both for your help. Don't know why manufactures did not put model year on their products in the olden days. This is my landscaping quilting machine, with the single needle hole, small pieces of fabric do not get pulled into the feed dogs like with a zigzag plate.

That is handy to have around. The one that Sears sent me went to 1985, but it took them a while to send it. You would be amazed at what you can find if you call these companies and ask for their archive departments and tell them what your looking for.

Billy, you are such a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for all you share.

Now, don't let that go to your head too much.

Recently got an old Kenmore and wonder if someone could date it for me please. The model number is C877.701 I believe the C stands for Canadian. It is called Automatic Super Deluxe Zig Zag. It does have a place for cams to do the zig-zag, but I do not have them. Can someone tell me more about this machine? TIA

Yes it's a model sold in Canada. I won't say there isn't one but I've never seen any reference charts for Canadian Kenmores. They just seem to be the more common Japanese machines sold here in the US, not like the Kenmores sold here. If you post a pic maybe we can tell you more about it or what cams will fit it.

There is also a manual and parts list that came with it. However no date on anything. Would the number stamped on the machine tell us anything?

Will post the picture upside down and see if that allows us to see it properly. ????
