Hell everyone,
I am very sad My Singer 4166 is frozen on me and I can not for the life of me figure out what is wrong with it. It won't sew anything the feed dogs won't even move. The red light will not turn off. I still have the instruction book there are NO troubleshotting tips. I took it appart and cleaned it out but it was empty. I am so confused any ideas anyone please.

I have so many swaps to get done soon, I really need my machine to be able too. :(

PLEASE I am begging/Crying out loud for HELP! Thanks!

When my machines do that it means the the thread got all tangled up in the bobbin area, but since you said you cleaned that all out, I can't think what else it might be. Does your knob on the right (the one that manually moves your needle up and down) move?

I was at a quilt retreat with a friend once and her machine acted like that. We did everything and then I noticed that she had the bobbin pin on top pushed over as if she were going to wind a bobbin. We moved it back in the right postition and her machine sewed like a dream. Hope this helps.

I had a similar issue and the thread was wound around the wheel. It accidently was caught in there from the thread stand.

If it has computer parts, turn it off and turn it back on.

Is the needle lever down? Maybe it doesn't work with it UP.

Unplug it and plug back in.

Check the knob on the right...(I forget what it's called)

One of my Juki TL98QE did this, nothing worked but the light, had to take it for a repair and cleaning, just needed some ajusting and cleaning and oiling where I couldn't reach. Didn't need any parts and had worked perfectly the night before.

Let us know if any of the above worked. Sorry and I hope there is a simple solution.

Try hitting the reverse button. sometimes mine sticks. It makes a beeping sound and flashes it's lights. Drives me crazy.

The knob on the right does move the needle.
