Has anyone else heard about this? I guess I spend too much time on the QB, because I can't remember the last time I watched or read the news...LOL.

My sister warned me, since we commute to work together.

Yeah, I just heard about the storm this morning. Guess the midwest is really going to get hit hard and then its moving across to the Northeast (wonderful)! Sounds like everyone is going to get several inches (again)!! :(

cjomomma 01-30-2011 04:04 PM

We are only suppose to get the rain portion of this storm. You all be careful out there over the next couple of days.

frugalfabrics 01-30-2011 04:04 PM

My sister emailed me to warn me about it. So we will probably just put in for "vacation" days so we won't have to struggle in it.

We are both mortified at the thought of driving in bad weather conditions. We do it as much as we can, because we have to, but I think this one is going to be like an "excused absence"...lol.

Everyone except those of us who want it!! We are not included guess we live to far north for snow this year!!

frugalfabrics 01-30-2011 04:08 PM

Wow, you'all haven't have much snow up north this year...I'll gladly trade with you. When I lived up north (Marquette), we always had snow.

mcdaniel023 01-30-2011 04:14 PM

The Chicago news said the snow will be measured in feet not inches. South of us will get lots of ice. We have a blizzard warning. Should be interesting.

Up North 01-30-2011 04:18 PM

Dang!! WE got like 7 inches in the last couple days but it is fluff and not good for snowmobiling or skiing!!

frugalfabrics 01-30-2011 04:18 PM

We are right on the edge of the snow ice area (Michigan/Ohio line)...but I work north of that, so I'm thinking more snow towards the work.

ProudGranny5 01-30-2011 04:25 PM

Here we are suppose to get 12 inches!!!!
AND ice... I went through a nasty ice storm in 2005! No power for 9 days but we survived it!!! No heat as we couldn't run furnace as it has a fan on it. Hubby hooked up a battery to computer so we could use it a couple hours a day & made coffee with the battery too!
Generator was used to run the fridge & freezer, but as I said... we survived once we got all the frozen downed tree limbs out of our driveway!
