Ok, so I'm gonna be brave and post my latest quilt top. Keep in mind, I'm still fairly new, this only being my 4th one ever. Far, far from perfect. Anyway, so I spray basted and loosely pin basted too since I don't quite trust the spray to hold.
This is to be my first ever hand quilted try. I've only SITD before on the machine. I would really like to try something other than that but cannot figure out what pattern to try with the triangles.
Any ideas/suggestions?

Beautiful! I would do outline quilting but that's what I like - emphasizes the piecing.

I only free motion quilt so I can't help with suggestions, but it is really a beautiful quilt. I know whatever you do will look wonderful.

i would try a vine-y thing in the sashing with spirals in the pinwheels. Just a suggestion.

First your quilt is wonderful. I am concerned that the spry basting will make it difficult to hand quilt. Puts a lot of drag on the needle. Perhaps someone who does hand quilting can comment on this. As to quilting pattern look at some circular patterns or stars or flowers that incorporate the windmill. hth.

What a fabulous start. Your top is beautiful! And taking on hand quilting warms my heart. It's what I always do.
I would go out an get a roll of 1/4" quilting tape. Decide what elements you want to quilt . You don't have to do all of them. I would probably just do the "backgrounds" ( 1 from the corners) and the pieces just outside the pinwheels. That should be close enough. Put the tape next to the seam line and quilt along the tape around the shapes.
Learning to hand quilt takes time and patience. Lots of straight lines should be good to practice on. Watch the miracle happen as your stitches get to a consistent length. Small stitches take time. Be patient. And proud of your progress as you go along.

Hubby got home so got him to hold it up for a better view.
I am a little concerned that I will be able to hand quilt through the basting spray. I did use it very lightly since I put a few pins in as well.

I love it... I love all the colors. I can only SITD or outlne as well on my machine.. I used to hand quilt, but hands just won't do that any more. But if I were going to hand stitch, I would still outline all the blocks and all the triangles in the block. But I would do something curves in the sashing. Don't put to much movement in your blocks. You don't want to take away the beauty of the block.
