When you find fabric you LOVE,but don't know what you want to do with it,how much do you buy?
|
If I LOVE it, I will buy a minimum of 3 yds... but more if my pocketbook doesn't scream too loud :D:D:D

I love to empty bolts. I will take all that is on a bolt if it is something I truly like/love. At my local Joann's, I'm known at the "Bolt Emptyer".

Because I do mostly scrappy quilts and raw edge applique I buy in fairly small quantities. 1/4, 1/2 yards at a time. If it is a fabric that seems as though it would be really good for a border, such as a stripe, I buy about 2 1/2 yards. Of course, it also depends on the price. If a REALLY good sale (75% off) I buy more than I would normally.

It depends on how I can see it being used. Border fabric usually requires 3-4 yards. Background or neutral, 1-2 yrds. Some I know I'll use for bags or small projects and will just get a yard.

Given my finances, and the fact that I like scrappy quilts - I buy 1/2 to 1 yard. I only buy more if I have a particular project in mind.
|
Depends on how close it is to pay day and how many gifts cards I've hoarded.
