I don't...and don't have a need to...still have just a basic phone.

My daughter is trying to convince me that I need all these new fangled functions.

I absolutely text, all the time-my kids, my DH, my sis-in-law, my real estate agent, my neighbor across the street, etc, etc, etc,

Only when I have to. Mostly just to my 23 yr old son who is in Ohio. Seems that's the best way to communicate with him. I don't care much for talking on the phone either, (unless it's my mom).

Only when I'm driving in a school zone.........

You know, I never thought I would. But me and hubby actually text each other.
I find it odd in this day and age. We used to have to write to each other, then came the phone! Finally, instand communication. Then came cell phones, Ooooo Ahhh can talk to people on the go. Now here it is we have reverted back to writing each other, seems a step backwards to me.

I finally had to give in and learn how to text. I find that my kids 20 and 23 will respond to my texting immediately.;) Didn't take this mom long to figure out how to play that game. Now I like it. I use it for work to. I can get a message to someone without interupting a meeting or interfearing with a classroom full of kids.

I text infrequently, paying for individual messages rather than a plan for them. I also don't own a smart phone, don't really know how to operate the camera on the 2 year old "basic" one I currently have, and I also don't have a camera/Tivo/record/rent movies/pay-per-view or deal with other techie stuff.

I had my first (Commodore 128) computer in the early 80s, when I was in real estate and could access the Multiple Listing Service online via telephone modem. It was the height of 'new stuff'! I've been online with email for nearly 20 years, starting with AOL when it was AOL 2.0 and a leader in the field.

Last month I received a new laptop from my daughter and it has taken my over three weeks to figure it out, get internet access (changed from old AT&T air card), download new printer driver, and other tech stuff that literally had me waking from stress dreams at night. Everything has changed since 2008.

I have decided I am now officially TOO OLD for all this tech stuff and will willingly leave it all to the younger generation! Email and QB are it for me. :?
