Default How do I download a new avatar?

My avatar of my beautiful Hunter who passed a year ago needs to be deleted and my new dog, Merlyn, put as my avatar. I can't remember for the life of me how I did it in the first place. Anyone have step-by-step instructions I can follow.

Click "settings" up on top of the page, then click on "edit avatar" on the left hand side of the next page.

Browse to the new picture. Avatar pictures must be very small pixels to upload (i think 168x168?), so you may need to change it's size in paint or another editing program before it will post.

I got that far but I think my photo is too big and I don't know how to downsize it. Do I have to take the picture again and save it in a smaller size?

As you can see, I'm computer stupid.
