FireFox has a built-in spell checker. no need to install anything else.

I don't use FireFox.
I have google, and yahoo. My spell check on google just makes the whole thing disappear even the little bar, over There > that makes the message move up and down.

So what I am understanding is if I don't switch to Firefox spell check is not going to work on this forum.
I happen to be very comfortable with what I have . I have had Firefox before and was not all that happy with it. But thanks anyway.

whether or not a spell-checker built into different software will work at our site has nothing whatsoever to do with our site.

i suggested FireFox because that's what i use and i didn't need to install anything extra in order for its spell checker to work ... regardless of which site i happen to be on.

there's no rule that says you must switch. it was just a suggestion based on the fact that what you are using does not work.

but Patrice. I am talking also about the spell check that is on this site. Right above where all the little icons are. IF I could get that to work I would be happy. I guess I wasn't clear enough in my first post.

well, that's a good one on me.

i don't see a spell-checker icon in my editor - even when i Go Advanced.

soooooo ... that must be the result of the "something" you downloaded?

my habit in cases like that is to immediately uninstall any "something" i install that doesn't work - especially if it creates a mess within programs that did work before. i take risks with my quilts but never with my computer. too much money at stake, and i am so cheap my skates won't roll. LOL

maybe somebody else will come along who is familiar with your "something" and can provide some tips. i will keep my fingers crossed for you.

How odd.As you can see in the picture its there. That little icon was there before and when I clicked on it was when it said to download. I will go into my programs and see if I can find it and get rid of the program . HMMM

I keep getting lines from my screen but I think you can see it.

Ok went in and the only program I didn't recognize was iespell. So I took it off. Then I came here and clicked on the little abc icon again and this is what came up. so at least now I know I'm not crazy. lol
